Becoming
A Supplier

AM General is always looking for partners who can provide complimentary commodities and can show proven experience. They must also have a strong and stable history of delivering on their contracts, as well as a strong financial position.
How To Become ASupplier
Small Business Subcontracting

We are proud of our sourcing practices which actively seek partnerships with a wide range of suppliers to ensure we have access to the most qualified and innovative businesses. Our buyers actively pursue the use of small businesses, including the recognized subcategories of Small Disadvantaged (SDB), Women-Owned (WOSB), Historically Underutilized Zone (HUBZone), Veteran-Owned (VOSB) and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned (SDVOSB), in all procurements. Competitive source selections consider business classification, with the impact on award dependent upon stringent supplier qualifications and the requirements of the project or program involved.

AM General buyers rely upon a supplier’s self-certification for all subcategories of business classification with the exception of HUBZone, which requires Small Business Administration (SBA) (www.sba.gov/hubzone/) certification. Our buyers confirm certification through www.sba.gov. Information regarding business classifications (including definitions and qualifications of each category), DUNs numbers and self-certification is available and maintained at the Small Business Administration’s website www.sba.gov.

Suppliers are also encouraged to complete online certifications at the U.S. Government’s System for Award Management (SAM) website (www.sam.gov).
