Mobility Ventures LLC, designer and manufacturer of the acclaimed MV-1, today announced it is the lead sponsor of the New York City Disability Pride Parade, set to take place on July 12th. The MV-1 is the only vehicle specifically engineered from the ground up in support of wheelchair users and people with other disabilities.
The parade will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) and former United States Senator Tom Harkin, a primary author of the bill, will be the parade’s grand marshal.
“We thank Mobility Ventures for their strong support of the Disability Pride Parade and New York City’s disability community,” said Victor Calise, Commissioner of the Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities. “On this historic anniversary, we are grateful for their partnership, which has helped us to spread the word about the importance of accessibility and equality for people with disabilities in New York City and across the country.”
“We are proud and honored to play a supporting role in this important celebration,” said Pat Kemp, executive vice president, Mobility Ventures. “We at Mobility Ventures are dedicated to providing those with disabilities independence and dignity with safe, affordable, and innovative transportation – and the revolutionary MV-1 does just that. We could not think of a better way to honor those with disabilities and celebrate the momentous occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act.”
The New York City Disability Pride Parade will begin at noon on July 12th at Madison Square Park and proceed down Broadway, ending at Union Square Park. The parade and celebration will round off with activities and entertainment featuring musicians, elected officials, and celebrities.
After the parade and during the festivities at Union Square Park, Mobility Ventures will unveil its new 2016 MV-1, the world’s most advanced wheelchair accessible vehicle.
Throughout the month of July, Mobility Ventures will proudly sponsor and participate in ADA 25th Anniversary events in Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston, Cleveland, Cincinnati, San Francisco and St. Paul, MN.
The American made MV-1 is redefining accessible transportation with a built-in side-entry ramp, ample head room, and seating for up to five which includes the ability to safely accommodate two wheelchair users at a time—one of whom rides in the front and the other in the spacious passenger area —making it the perfect solution for consumers, commercial use, and government fleets. Additionally, the MV-1 meets all Buy America requirements and FMVSS safety standards.
With more than 115 dealerships in the North American MV-1 network, Mobility Ventures is expanding choice in transportation for families and taxi, livery and paratransit fleets.
