Attack on the World Trade Center

In 2001, the World Trade Center was attacked, triggering an international military response led by the United States into Afghanistan. This conflict continued into 2014 when NATO ended combat operations and began planning for withdrawal.

The Humvee was a constant presence throughout this conflict in the Middle East, providing the U.S. Army and Marine Corps transportation across the country. Early on, the use of Humvees for rough terrain travel was invaluable to troops. However, as another conflict broke out in neighboring Iraq, it was became clear that adaptations were needed.
