WASHINGTON, D.C. – The over 200 members of the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC), www.USUBC.org, are proud to welcome AM General as a new member.
Headquartered in South Bend, Indiana, AM General is an American company that designs, manufactures, and supports specialized vehicles for military and commercial customers, including the iconic, rugged, and battle tested HUMVEE vehicles.
AM General and its heritage companies have built over 1 million vehicles in the last 100 years and over 300,000 light tactical vehicles that are deployed in more than 70 countries, more than any other defense company in the world.
“We’re very honored to be a part of the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council as it further strengthens our relationship with Ukraine and its armed forces,” said John Chadbourne, AM General EVP – Chief Business Development Officer. “Our HUMVEE vehicles have been a mainstay on the front lines in Ukraine, and we are proud to provide them with the quality vehicles they need to complete their mission.”
In 2015, the United States approved providing Ukraine with non-lethal weapons, including High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWV or HUMVEE). Since then, the four-wheel drive military trucks produced by AM General have been saving the lives of Ukrainian soldiers on the front lines.
The recent security aid package from the United States included supplying 100 HUMVEE vehicles to Ukraine that provided additional priority capabilities to Ukrainian armed forces in the mid- and long-term. These capable American trucks have already proven themselves on the battlefields in Ukraine, withstanding multiple fires from the enemy and continuing to serve those who serve.
The Ukrainian military is constantly in need of additional vehicles. In order to keep existing fleets running, in particular Humvee vehicles, the Come Back Alive Foundation provided two mobile repair stations to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“The over 200 members of the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC), welcome AM General as its newest member. AM General manufactures and supplies to Ukraine high-mobility multipurpose armored vehicles that move Ukrainian troops around the battlefields. We are looking forward to working with AM General,” said USUBC CEO & President, Morgan Williams.
